Sightseeing

At noon 12.15, every day, the royal guards are released from their positions and this is preceded by a parade which is a bit fun to Watch. The museum "Livrustkammaren" is one of our kids favourite. Here you can see a lot of the recent and past royalties private things (dresses, dolls, juvelery, crowns, knight outfits and much more and you can try some things. It doesn't take very long. Make sure to go down stairs to look at the pincess wagoons!!

An open air museum with animals and houses from all over Sweden. This gives you a quick look at the Swedish nature, living and working in Sweden 100 years back. The kids love this place and we go there a couple of times every year.

We can really recommend the the Hop on hop off buses and boats. This is a great way to see (the most well-known parts of) the city. Just have a seat, relax and view the city life, the scenery, the water and the buildings while listening to the guide. It takes 1,5-2 hours if you don´t hop off and you get to see a lot. There are three companies, the Red buses are free of charge for Children under 12. You can buy the tickets in front of the castle.
