Interacting with the local people should always be polite
Panamanian people are reserved but friendly and always willing to help. They are polite in the communications, and expect the same from visitors. It is customary to greet people with Buen Dia or buenos dias, (good morning) buenas tardes (good afternoon) or buenas noches (good night).
It is customary to thank people who have offered any kind of service, no matter how small. A simple " Gracias!" is perfect.
Panamanian people don't walk around in their bathing suits except when on the beach or at the pool. It is considered rude to be out in public "undressed."
