The Coronet in Barrio Viejo is comprised of a restaurant for dinner, a daytime cafe and an evening pub. Its patio is exceptionally charming and a great place to hang out. Have a coffee there and explore the possibilities.

El Mezquite is in the Doubletree Hilton at the Convention Center, a few blocks from Cimarrones. I am usually skeptical of chain hotel restaurants, but El Mezquite is the exception. It has a spacious restaurant with an outdoor patio and several bars and is a very comfortable place to just chill.

This is a bit further of a walk, over in El Presidio neighborhood, but well worth it, especially when combined with a visit to the Tucson Museum of Art or shopping at Old Town Artisans. They have a lovely patio and it is a great option whether for coffee, brunch, lunch, or dinner.

A great beer list and the best charcuterie board in Tucson. Unfortunately, they don't take reservations.

Casual outdoor-only Regional Mexican dining. The Nachos Grande are my personal favorite. Try the horchata or cochata if you have never had it. Combine Seis with shopping at the Mercado San Agustin and the MSA Annex down the block.

Plant-based burger joint in the MSA Annex. It sounds unappetizing, but they taste great. Sweet potato fries there are a must. Sit outside under a mister or in a "container". Combine with shopping at the Annex and Mercado San Agstin.

Not on everyone's radar, but this is my place for special occasions. The food is very, very good and they have a nice courtyard patio.

Shopping

Some good shopping for home goods and furniture. Colonial Frontiers is my favorite, with Colonial Indian furniture their specialty, although the COVID import problems have meant they have had to branch into Mexico more.

Just a fun place in nearby Menlo Park to shop, have a cup of coffee, and maybe have a Beaut Burger. Walking distance from Cimarrones if it's not too hot. The stores are in converted shipping containers making it a bit unique.

Just up the road from MSA Annex. MAST is a good place for unique gifts. La Cabana has some very nice antiques but is pricey. Eat at Seis. Avoid the coffee at Presta. Worst cappuccino I have ever had and the staff are rude.

If you are in Tucson for a while and like shopping, take a drive down to Tubac. Tourist shopping heaven with some quality stuff.

You will need to book your tour ahead of time, and it's a 50 min drive, but this place is special. It was discovered reasonably recently and, as a result, they have managed to keep the caves pristine and uncontaminated. Spectacular stalagmites and stalactites.
