City advice

Getting around

About Granada - Taxi

You can easily get anywhere by taxi, that costs 20C per person independently where you go within the city, but we can also borrow you bikes if you feel so.
Don't miss

What do do...

Visit and go up in bell towers of the beautiful churches, walk along the promenade, check out the old railway station, look at (or try) the local restaurants on the pedestrian street (la Calzada) or just get lost in the colonial streets of the city. A good orientation point is the towers of the cathedral on the main square that you can see from many points in the city.
Customs and culture

Granada - Security

Granada (and Nicaragua overall) is safe, you just have to keep the basic rules that applies anywhere in the word. (Don’t use or wear expensive and flashy cameras, jewels; don’t go to empty streets by night, etc.) So you can walk everywhere and feel safe!

What to see...

Our favorite spots in the city: To visit: - Church of San Fransisco - Cathedral - Bell tower of church las Mercedes - Main market - Promenade - Cemetery

Laguna de apoyo

A lake in a volcanic crater. This is a must if you are in Granada, the water is a little mineralic and crystal clear, we have never felt something like this before. We can help you organinzing the trip.
Travelling with kids

Dino park in Nindiry

Not too big, but worth to go there and you can also visit Laguna de Apoyo on the way there or back....
Don't miss

Boat trip or kayaking on Lake Nicaragua, around the islands

It's a very nice program, you don't have to make reservation, just go there and get on a boat trip (20-25$/boat) or rent a kayak (10$) and explore the islands on your own.
