Local star chef Alon Shaya has created a welcoming neighborhood restaurant full fresh Israeli and Mediterranean dishes. We love the ikra dip, moussaka, short ribs, and (of course) as much warm, freshly fired pita as you can eat. Also great for brunch! Indoor and outdoor seating.

Get your reservations now! This tasting menu only restaurant is such a special experience. Creative Mexican and Latin American food presented so thoughtfully. The wine pairings are optional but we recommend--expect some fun, different bottles. Inside only.

The best snoballs in Nola--don't let anyone tell you different. The creamiest ice in town with great, interesting, not overly sweet flavors. A few favorite combinations: watermelon and ginger, cream of root beer add ice cream, pineapple and cream of coconut, spiced cranberry and eggnog if it happens to be winter. Basically all outside (order at the door and sit on the bench to eat).

Pick-up only fried chicken that you will dream about later. The chicken has a spiced, peppery breading and the fried okra and dirty rice are worth the trip all by themselves. Affordable and delicious.

Fresh falafel platters with awesome dips and beautiful salads. Not your typical New Orleans food, but great for a healthier option. Plenty of vegetarian and vegan options here. Also great to grab take out here and have it served at Swirl wine bar next door. Indoor seating and a few outdoor tables.

You've seen Chef Issac Toups on tv, now eat his food. We love the marinated crab claws and the boudoin. Meat focused meals with a cajun twist.

The most beautiful design store in Nola. Vintage furniture and finds meets luxury candles meets kitchen goods meets florals. Even if you buy nothing, this place is worth it for the curation and interior design alone. Such a special spot.

Sightseeing

This is Nola's version of the High Line. A newer park that runs along the Mississippi River from the edge of the French Quarter to the end of the Bywater neighborhood. They have integrated some of the industrial landscape into the park, so expect to see trains and an old wharf in addition to the river and plantings. Great for running and also perfect place to see the city skyline and watch the boats on the river.

A great smaller zoo that feels like walking through a park. Especially fun for visitors may be the swamp exhibit that recreates a walkable swamp environment complete with lots of alligators, river otters, swamp cottages, and a rare white alligator. Perfect for families, but fun for couples too.

Affordable, luxury facials that use skin workout techniques. Also have add ons like microcurrent or hydrojelly masks. The party skin treatment is amazing before an event--it looks like you just had a facelift.
