Good place to have breakfast out if you want to stay local. A couple of minutes walk from the property. They also have pizza to eat in or take away in the evenings.

Beaches

The beaches on the island are quite varied, depending on whether you're looking for traditional buckets and spades or something less developed. Our personal favourites, listed here, don't offer much in the way of facilities - so best to take refreshments with you.
Hard(ish) to reach, but this tree-backed beach is worth a visit on a sunny day. We park at the end of Solent View Road in Seaview (PO34 5HH), down to the seafront, along the Esplanade to a small pathway that takes you over the hill to sandy beach.

Another nice sandy beach and one where you could also do some fossil hunting. Plenty of parking right by the beach.

Compton Bay is good spot for body boarding. We access it from either Hanover Point National Trust Car Park or Compton Chine/Farm Car Park (which is a steeper climb down steps to the beach) but tends to be bit quieter.

Family Days Out

You could quite easily make a full day of visiting this park and garden if the weather is good. Activities for the whole family.
