Fantastic breakfast up to 12:00; for lunch I recommend the steak bap without the bap. Delish!

I love this cafe! THE friendliest, most welcoming spot for breakfast, lunch and tasty coffee breaks right in the busy shopping district. My favourite is the fluffy buttermilk pancakes with fresh fruit and maple syrup on the side.

Right in the middle of Athlone the Craft Bistro is super friendly with good food and the very popular all day breakfast. I recommend their own take on Eggs Benedict - who knew balsamic vinegar would taste so good with eggs? It’s fab!

Stunning views of Lough Ree, restaurant, plus food trucks plus golf course

A must see, if only for the view. Plus, I’m rather proud of this photo. :) I just love the cloud scape!
Beautiful views of Lough Ree. Also an excellent golf club, restaurant and bars in the Glasson Lakehouse hotel.

Innovative Brewery, Bar and Food

Local brewing success story, Dead Centre Brewing produces a range of superb craft beers, also sold in most off-licenses and supermarkets now. But the Dead Centre Brewing company central-Athlone location also boasts a relaxed pizzeria right on the banks of the Shannon river with a view of Athlone Castle and St Peter’s Church. Worth a visit!
Brilliant local success story, fabulous boutique beers. Ask about a tasting experience!
