I have spent so many happy hours over the years wandering around Painshill Park. One year, all my children had their birthday parties there including treasure hunts around the spectacular landscape. Created in the 18th century by Charles Hamilton as a living painting, Painshill invites you to walk around a work of art and discover dramatic follies, calming waters and stunning views. Painshill is regarded as one of the foremost and finest examples of the English Landscape Movement. I highly recommend it at any time of year. https://www.painshill.co.uk/

Fun!

Windsor Duck Tours do what they say on the tin....give you a tour of Windsor in a duck (semi-aquatic vehicle) where part of the tour is on the road and part on the Thames! And, if that were not whacky enough, the operators also run several escape room experiences in Windsor. Check out their website: https://www.windsorducktours.co.uk/ Steamboat https://www.thamessteam.com/

I can't miss this out of the orientation book because I lived almost opposite for years and spent endless hours there with my kids! I am not sure that it is a day out for adults only - unless you are REALLY into Lego - but if you are travelling with a child, its a must! https://www.legoland.co.uk/

Situated alongside the river in Henley on Thames, the museum is a celebration of the river. We loved it when my children were younger, especially for their Wind in the Willows exhibition, but they also have a lively programme of exhibitions in conjunction with the well-known London museums. https://www.rrm.co.uk/

Henley-on-Thames is arguably one of the most beautiful towns in England. Henley’s riverside location, surrounded by a Chiltern landscape of wooded hills and green fields, lends itself to relaxation, long lunches and great shopping. There’s a pub where Charles I drank, a Chantry house, a butcher that smokes his own meat and independent shops still offering the personal touch. Henley is a regular winner of RHS Britain in Bloom medals and the home of a well-known TV detective! We are home to the Henley Royal Regatta, arguably the best-known regatta in the world. It is one of the jewels in Henley’s crown. https://www.henleytowncouncil.gov.uk/
