Upscale, fine dining with amazing views of the Cook Inlet! You MUST try the Halibut Cheeks. You'll be tempted by every other amazing dish they serve, but trust me on this, the halibut cheeks are hard to beat!

Local Craft Beers and award-winning pizza. There's a reason most people order to-go because the line to wait for dine in service is usually 60-90 minutes. You can sample the beers while you wait.

City advice

Getting around

Rent a Van\SUV\Truck from Moose Times Lodge

Moose Times lodge has several vehicles available to rent through Turo. Let us know how many seats you need and we'll send you some special offers with your vacation rental.
Getting around

Ride Shares and Taxis abound

We have plenty of Ubers, Lyfts, and Taxis to choose from for getting around to/from the airport. They all cost about the same, generally $25-30 to get anywhere in town or to our Moose Times Lodge.
Getting around

Denali Gold Star Train offers comfortable sight seeing

You can ride the train from Anchorage, south to Seward, or north to Denali or Fairbanks. Comfortable trip with big windows, the railroad cuts through beautiful scenery.
What to pack

Caution, big dangerous wildlife around!

Moose and Bears abound throughout Alaska. Our lodge has loaner cans of Bear Pepper Spray you can borrow to help protect yourself in case of an up close encounter. We suggest keeping a comfortable distance 100 to 150 feet. Moose look like gentle giants, but they might charge you if they have young to protect. Bears are unpredictable, but will generally leave groups of 3 or more alone, but make a lot of noise to let them know you're coming so they get out of the way. Most stores will sell "bear bells" that ring as you walk to alert bears of your presence so they stay away.
What to pack

Hiking boots & Rain gear

More than likely, you will go off trail at some point during your trip to Alaska. A good comfortable pair of water-proof hiking boots with ankle support are recommended. It will likely rain during your trip to Alaska. We recommend bringing a hooded rain jacket and a ball cap to keep the hood out of your eyes.
What to pack

Don't forget your binoculars!

So much to see, eagles, moose, bears, dall sheep, and more! Binoculars help you get up close looks at the beauty of the scenery and wildlife.
