This beach is a great place for a picnic. When the waves are calm, the snorkeling is fun. When the waves are big, the rocks make a neat sound on the shoreline as they are dragged back and forth. A sand free experience! Very steep paved road down to the beach.

City advice

Ways to save

Shop farmers markets for produce

Snag great deals on local produce at the markets. Travel to Kona or Hilo and visit Walmart and Target for good prices. Costco in Kona is the best prices for food and gas. Safeway in Hilo is the second best price for gas.
What to pack

Bring reef safe sunscreen and a sweatshirt

Keeping our reefs healthy is very important. Bring a sweatshirt and pants for our chilly evenings. Enjoy some stargazing as the stars are beautiful here.
