Sightseeing

Varies with Covid Protocol They have special evening events (i.e. local guitar players/singers). Should check with the museum on their Facebook page or call 488-2265 to confirm their hours. There's a coffee shop on site if you just want to walk around and hangout. They have amazing grounds and it's worth just getting a cup of iced coffee and sitting on the grass...it's so zen. Definitely a must! https://belaunationalmuseum.net/ and Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/belaumuseum/posts/

Dive Shops

Great shop to stop if you're missing anything for your diving trip. Note, some items are in Japanese sizes so be mindful when buying clothing here. Great variety of diving gear, clothing etc. The owners also operate Cruise Control, a local diving business.

Food scene

If you have a sweet tooth, this is definitely one of the places to go in town. They also serve boba tea, cakes, pastries and they accept apple pay:) https://www.facebook.com/pages/category/Product-service/Zhyrees-Sweets-108620394605258/

If you're hungry and want to go where the locals go then look no further than Kumangai Bakery and Emaimelei Restaurant. Fresh pastries, breads, etc. made daily and the restaurant section serves some of the largest dishes in town for a reasonable price. https://goo.gl/maps/ccE1AkDm9NojYjDr6

Best Indian food in town! They have lunch buffet specials and this definitely a must! They also have live bands on Friday and Saturday nights.

This is a great place to get donuts to start the morning. They also have "tama" that is a popular pastry with the locals. Similar to donut holes but a little bigger. Their tuna melt buns are delicious! Great to have some for a diving or fishing trip. They usually run out early so I suggest getting there early or order ahead of time.

Food is pretty good and this place is a local favorite. They have karaoke night on Thursday or Friday nights. Service isn't that great though so it'll require a little patience. Be mindful of what you're charged, I've been overcharged at the restaurant a couple times. Google Maps: https://goo.gl/maps/JdZCNXVn3DFAnnDc9

If you're into healthy food, smoothies and juices then look no further than The Salad Bar...this is a local favorite. Love everything on the menu. You can even call to order ahead - 488-6443 https://goo.gl/maps/hsM663soQ4JaiLtBA Personal favorite smoothie is: Mixed berries, peanut butter, vanilla whey-protein scoop, fresh local malungay / moringa leaves, spirulina, bananas, dragonfruit, aloe and milk! I also tried it with papaya too. So yummy!

City advice

Don't miss

Thursday Farmer's Market at Eruungel Park

This is one of my favorite things to do in Palau. Every Thursday, there is a local farmers' market in the middle of town (across the street from Bank of Guam). Most vendors show-up between 7-8:30 am. Earlier the better although you may have to wait a bit for the vendors showing up around 8 am. Definitely worth the wait though. You can find fresh fruits (guava, pineapples, coconuts, vegetables, calamasi, hot bento plates, local coconut oil, dragonfruit, etc.). Coconuts sell fast so get there early! Chinese Massage (tel: 680-488-5380)

I can never remember the name of the Chinese massage parlor but it's definitely worth trying. They do 1 hour foot massage which is partial body, partial foot massage. I normally just on the lounge chair in the main parlor. You get a foot soak and an hour massage (generally strong). Note, it might be painful if you've never had the no-nonsense foot massage. You feel way better afterwards, especially if you plan to do a whole day of diving/fishing excursion. Here's the exact location on google maps: https://goo.gl/maps/bjWsknqpmc38b4qy8 It's on the back street behind WCTC Shopping Center
Book before you go

Anthias Spa Massage

Anthias Body Care - If you're looking for a bit of a spa-like massage, look no further than Anthias. Parking is a bit of a pain but it's definitely worth the minor inconvenience. Note, be sure to ask the price when booking. Suggest making an appointment ahead of time. Certain hours of the day/week there is a bit of discount. Suggest calling them to confirm. https://www.facebook.com/anthiasbodycare/ Here's the location on google maps: https://goo.gl/maps/pi1AZm5VVLjdxgFe7 Suggest doing an hour and a half massage or two hours. Especially after a long diving/fishing trip.

Sushi Bar Mito Koror Palau aka Sushi Mito

One of the best Japanese restaurants in town. Definitely a must! Right underneath The Taj Indian restaurant. It's a quiet cozy restaurant. Lunch special is a must! You can get hot soba and sashimi. Here's the link: https://goo.gl/maps/yHqmiTwfV8VpaVqv7
