Neighborhoods

As a native Austinite, I would say that this is the neighborhood that still seems like the place I grew up. Friendly, small-town feel with activities and culture that speaks to a larger population.

Fusion, but not the horrible, ubiquitous kind that spawned Southwest eggrolls. Craft cocktails are a sleeper suggestion here.

City advice

Getting around

You can walk!

The streets here have nice sidewalks, and if they don't, they're generally pretty quiet and safe for pedestrians.
Getting around

Uptown/Downtown express

There are uptown and downtown express busses. They can get you to the Domain or downtown in under 30 minutes. Trust me that this is better than driving in Austin.
