Food scene

We love the outdoor seating as they tend to have local musicians playing outside on the weekends. It's fun for tapas and obviously wine!

Burgers and beers. During warm weekend days, this is a fun place to sit outside and listen to local musicians. In the evenings or less ideal weather conditions it has a nice pub feel inside.

A nearby place great for weekend brunch (bottomless mimosas), lunch and dinner. I love the crab cakes benefit for breakfast with mango hollandaise. The bar is beautiful and classy. And the outdoor patio is great in the mild seasons.

Nightlife

For local nightlife, this is a funky space for dancing and high energy. It is 2 bars in one, with at least 5 different bars of different themes. One side usually has a band and an older crowd. The other side usually has a DJ and a younger crowd. There is a cigar and hookah lounge attached to their patio. And on weekends you can get late night food munchies.

A couple of forms of entertainment in one. Bowling, gambling, sports bar, pool and darts. Plus weekend nightlife. It is more casual, a little older than the young crowd, and can be more on the dive bar side.

Outdoors

Parking is confusing, but near Cattleman's restaurant is the easiest for us. Bring chairs and towels, walk down the pathway to the river for great views and a refreshing day by the river. We usually like to bring a speaker and cooler with us too since you bring everything in and out yourself.

This is the easiest place to bring the kayak! You have to pay around $12 to park unless you have a state park pass.

Don't judge by the photo. While it isn't the prettiest of lakes, it is still nice when it is full (drought season has been tough). The two main entrances are Beal's Point and Brown's Ravine. Beal's Point is fun for picnics and a beach setting. Brown's Ravine (specifically Hobie Ramp) is fun for a more laid-back, local, 'party' atmosphere depending on the time of year. People will bring all their jet skis, water toys, etc with them and it has a fun energy. Usually lots of dogs playing around this area too. It costs around $12 to park without a state park pass.

A quiet, historical town. Some delicious cafes and restaurants nearby. But people travel here for either the gold mining history or for the best spots on the river. Bring a raft and float down the river! Or pay for a river rafting experience.
