Beautiful monastery and church that even with all the tourists, you can feel peace and taste the time of old days. A little remark of ticket: The church is free to visit and the always with long queues. The monastery is only free for Portuguese nationals with an ID card. You get entrance ticket from the ticket machine of the museum next-door!

This is the Palace of president, with a presidential museum filled with artifacts exchange in diplomatic visits, paintings from all the country's Presidents, and other items related with the republic. It's a good place to bring your children for some history adventure. There is also a lovely garden in it, not so big, but stylish and well maintained.

Next to the famous Belem Tower, and modern-looking memorial. This huge contrast in unique theme (memory for the courage and bravery) would give you a unique experience. It lays in a small layer of water which shines lovely in the sun and it's a memorial where we engrave the martyr's name on the surrounding walls.

The Belem Tower is Lisbon’s most famous landmark, standing in the middle of the Tagus River. It was constructed between 1514-1520 as a fortress to guard the entrance to Lisbon’s harbor and protect the city. Its a 16th century tower which serves as a monument to Portugal’s age of discovery on both land and sea. There is a big park near it and it's good for rest, reading, exercise and walk.

A small treasure right up on the hill. You can see it from the windows of our apartment. It has a fantastic view to the river and the bridge and a good place to have small meeting in a sunny afternoon. It's also a good place to see the sunrise in a good weather:)

Beautiful park which is local and not so popular to the tourists. I would say, it's a hidden gem, with many historical buildings behind the palace, seems this was the garden of the queen part of the palace building It is very quiet, and you can see an area with a huge cactus garden. Good for a walk and a family picnic in good weather.

Arts & Culture

Amazing place to visit! Much history from the discovery age up to nowadays! There are not so many technique stuff and it's actually smaller than I thought it should be. But still, it's a really cool place! to visit You can see when and how Portuguese bravely find out big world and new world! Tips: The museum has two part, with the other part on the other side of the garden, with a nice collection of real Royal boat in the old days.

Beautiful architecture's building. Open 7 days per week, you can always find art exhibitions and from time to time many concerts and play. The tickets are not very pricey. If you arrive half and hour before the show, sometimes you can get a 50% off sale:) There is a terrace facing the river, and a great restaurant at the 4th floor. In short, it's a beautiful place and amazing to spend a afternoon or an evening there.
