Getting around
Blue lines parking your car on the street
Especially in Palma, but also in other cities on Mallorca, parking spaces are scarce - and expensive to boot. Street and no-parking signs do indicate how and where to park, but they are in Spanish and not always understandable. Easy orientation is provided by the coloured lines with which parking areas and streets are marked. Parking is only allowed on streets with blue outlined areas, and even here only with a parking ticket. The maximum parking time in these areas is two hours. Anyone who exceeds the time and collects a ticket usually pays 60 euros.
