I don't know how they make their rice so magical, but that and everything else here is so delicious. You've got to try to sampler appetizer so you can try the assorted dips.

This place is an Atlanta landmark! Half of the things that go by your table aren't even on the menu, but the regulars know what to ask for! Make sure to dress up - no casual wear in the dining room.

Known for its GIANT fish outside the restaurant, it's also known for the amazing fish inside. I absolutley love their whole branzino but I've never had anything bad from this place. If you want fish, you won't go wrong here!

I've been here a couple of times and they are always changing the theme inside! You just have to see it. Food is top notch and the atmosphere is very unique. Definitely make a reservation!

I absolutely love Poke City - transports me back to Hawaii! It's low-key, causal, delicious, and the employees are always so nice. It's a little embarrasing how often we eat here.

If you're looking for excellent local pizza (and even an amazing salad) - you've got to try Fellini's! It's an Atlanta institution.

We love this place! And, if you go, I highly recommend the skinny margarita with a salt/sugar rim combo. SO GOOD.

Yes! I added Moe's to the list. But mainly because the first Moe's on earth is just around the corner on Peachtree and we spend a lot of time here for delicious and affordable family meals.

ChopShop is casual and healthy - and even my kids love it. The staff are lovely and it's really good clean food (and freshly-made juices, if you like those!).

Another Atlanta institution - The Varsity! I can't comment on the nutritional value, but the experience is one that's been around since 1928 (still family owned and operated)!

Alons is considered one of the best French bakeries in Atlanta (by my French friends). If you're interested in delicous pastries or coffee or tea, or want to look at some of their "market" items - it's perfect.

Sightseeing

The Atlanta Beltline - and particulary Ponce City Market - are a great way to get out to see Atlanta and stop and enjoy some food and beverages along the way. Many people like to do a "restaurant crawl" - where you experience samplings of items from place to place. Also - if you do make it to Ponce City Market - make sure to pop up to the roof. They have old fair games, a bar, and great city views (you do have to buy tickets, so check out times when they're open before you go!) However you enjoy it, the beltline is a popular way to enjoy your day in Atlanta.

The Atlanta Botanical Gardens are closeby and loved by my children as much as my in-laws. They have permanent art installations (like several Chihuly's) and rotating installations as well. Seriously, I have to drag my children out of here to go home.

Atlantic Station is a live/work/play community in midtown Atlanta and always has some kind of event planned. There's shopping, experiences (they've had the Bodies Exhibit, Museum of Illusions, etc.), and dining. It's also right down the road from our 15-acre Ikea store, if you wanted to take a detour over there!

If you are going to be over by Atlantic Station and have an interest in GA history, this museum is an easy yes. It's the 2nd largest classical monument in the US, and features several permenant and rotating displays. Tickets are required and they do have special events that requires they close on certain days. Check them out online before you go!
