City advice

Getting around

Parking on Broadway

Parking in the Uptown area, especially on Broadway, can be congested, so if you are okay with walking a few blocks, you may consider taking a stroll instead of trying to find a parking place. Also, much of the Uptown area has a two-hour limit for on-street parking.
Book before you go

Uptown Restaurants

Many of the nearby restaurants book up well in advance of the weekend, so be sure to give them a call to see if a table is available. Even if not, there is plenty to do around the area while you wait for your table. Another thing to note is that most are closed on Sunday and Monday evenings.
Don't miss

Market Days on Broadway

Each Saturday from April through November, four blocks along Broadway host over 200 local and regional vendors. Visitors can expect to find fresh and organic produce, home goods, jewelry, unique crafts, and delicious baked goods. Market Days is the perfect Saturday activity for family, friends, and visitors.
Don't miss

Whitewater/Riverwalk

Make sure to walk along the riverwalk in front of the Synovus building (1111 Bay Avenue) and cross the short bridge over to the small island where you can sit for hours watching kayakers and rafters challenge the rapids. You might even catch a glimpse of someone zip lining from state to state over the river!
