About 5 minutes from the cabin is a quintessential North Georgia grocery store. This place is also the oldest business in Union county still in it’s original location! You can fill up your tank with gas at their antique pumps and shop for local goods like sorghum, honey, pottery, and farm goods. They have a nice assortment of Blairsville and North Georgia T-shirts too. Super cute place and if you like boiled peanuts you can get your fix while you’re there!

Great little local bookstore to pick up a book to snuggle up and read at the cabin. The owner is very knowledgeable and helpful finding a book to read too 📚 If you’re lucky, Scarlett, the shop dog will be there to greet you.

Locally made pottery located in an old grist mill on the Soque river. There are large trout in the river and if the water is cool enough you can buy fish food and feed the fish. While you’re there look for the secret door that takes you below the mill.

This is beautiful 1/2 mile hike up to the Anna Ruby waterfall. You’ll drive through Unicoi State park to get to the entrance. Check out the visitors center while you’re there.

Beautiful state park with trails and a sand beach. You can usually rent a pedal boat at the beach and explore Unicoi lake. The picnic area 4-5 has an absolutely wonderful creek area to play in the creek. There are picnic tables there too if you want to bring a meal

Fun place to visit for those who believe! Not sure if you believe? check out the evidence at the museum and see if you’re convinced or not. A tour through this museum takes about an hour. There is a nice gift shop to check out too.
