Drinks & Nightlife

This is a great place to go. There are both Chilean and Spanish style tapas. Very nice draught beer (Stella comes out great). Be warned though it's very popular so arrive early to get a table.

The gringo pub in Santiago. If you are alone and feel the urge to speak English it's hard not to get into conversation in this place. Good bar grub and beer.

Food Scene

Top Chilean chef's restaurant specializing in fish and shellfish. Coco is referential when it comes to Chilean seafood. Expensive like Astrid y Gaston. Decor is modern with maritime memorabilia.

Barandiaran is a reasonable Peruvian budget restaurant. I don't like the indoor seating but I love their patio section on a warm summers day.

Nice, slightly outdated American diner but not in a bad way and always enjoy the food and hospitality there. Good ribs.

Le Flaubert is located in the perfect street for a French bistro of yesteryear. This place will transport you to Paris in the 1970s, food is good without being crazy good but I still like it a lot.
