Favorite things: Spinach and Ricotta Ravioli with tomato cream sauce, Pumpkin Ravioli (in season), Tortelloni: Light cream, peas, prosciutto, Gnocchi with marinara and fresh mozzarella, daily specials

Most iconic pizza, ranked best on most Pittsburgh pizza lists. Located a few miles away in Squirrel Hill. Sausage with fennel is made locally, perfectly paired with onion as your two toppings. A little well done. Good pepperoni, too.

Famous Pittsburgh sandwiches that are piled high with French fries and coleslaw on local Italian bread. The Strip District one is the original and the only way you should experience it, in my opinion. Was a trucker stop and you could eat a meal in one hand. Favorite: Capicola and cheese.

Funky, fresh take on Mexican food. Big, cool space. Always a scene. Lots of beers on tap with the specialty being Big Azz margaritas which are 22 oz. (in a lot of different flavors, but never made with a cheap mix.) If you're out late, they're on sale after 10 pm. Huge burritos, good wings (try San Francisco.) Gobblerito is Thanksgiving dinner in a burrito - try it in season!

Drinks & Nightlife

Cool Mexican place with house-made fresh margaritas. Sit inside at the bar with hipsters or when the weather is nice, sit outside on the awesome patio with strung lights. It's like you're on vacation. More for drinks than food.

Sightseeing

Best view of Pittsburgh high on the hill overlooking the three rivers. While you're up there you can take the little red incline/trolley up and down the side of the mount. (PS: Duquesne Incline is better).
