This is one of our favorites – we even had our rehearsal dinner here! Fantastic food, drink, and atmosphere! If you are looking for a relaxing and slightly more upscale dining experience, this is it!

Classy and charming go-to for all things! Combination of a market, deli, coffee shop, and beer/wine store this place has everything you need. We use it frequently for breakfast sandwiches as well as for lunch sandwiches and supplies before a day at the river. They even have a great smoothie bar!

If you are looking for a dive, this is absolutely it! The downstairs of the Lucky Dog. Darts, pool, a long bar and a DJ on the weekends. Not fancy and not for kids, but a fantastic time.

Hidden gem of the Campton Valley. This market has all the supplies you could ask for from firewood to baked goods. They also have a fantastic butcher – we often buy their sausages and steak tips to grill over the fire!

Swimming

Beautiful local beach on the crystal clear mirror lake. The color of the water is amazing! You can easily canoe and/or paddle board. Fantastic swimming, with a dock for jumping and diving. Great for kids! Grew up going here on hot summer days! About 20 minutes (11 mi) from the house.

This is kind of a “secret spot” where the conditions also have to be right to make it work. There’s also very limited street parking, so it is hit or miss. But we’ve had too many great times at this spot to not mention it here. Its also a small swimming spot, but it has unforgettable views of the Mountains to the north. The size of the beach, or if there’s a beach at all depends on the river depth. So if it’s been a rainy summer or stretch of time, there sometimes there is no beach. But it’s worth taking a look to the right when you’re driving on the covered bridge towards 93 or by looking to the left if you take the covered bridge on your way in from 93. Remember: this is the Pemi River, and there is a current, so be careful! Overall, it’s a great spot to take a quick dip because it’s really close to the house.
