With its fabulous Pavilion, Gardens and Opera House as well as shops and cafes, this is a great day out. Buxton's markets run most days at the top of the road above the gardens. The Crescent by the old Baths has been completely renovated and is stunning.

Entry to the house and formal gardens are chargeable but well worth a visit, or book for one of their many events, particularly the country fair. More extensive gardens are available to walk around freely and still offer incredible scenery. Walk to Pilsley for lunch at the fabulous Devonshire arms.

Home of the historic Peveril Castle but also many fabulous Pubs and gift shops, quite 'touristy' and parking can be tight but walking is possible from Tideswell for the fit.

A great place to start your walk, the gardens are generally pathed for those looking for an easier walk. For the more adventurous, walk to the Grouse Inn for a stop then circle back. Good cafe at Longshaw and parking free to NT members.

One of our favourite pubs, walk from Tideswell or stop off after the 'Cressbrook round' walk. Quirky, old fashioned pub with good beer and food.

Just at the bottom of Sunny Bank Lane, this is our ‘local’. Recently under new management, the menu has had an upgrade & now serves great food. The beer is good too.
