Sightseeing

You can walk here from Elliot Street via the Patriot's Path, for a nifty round-trip walk past this small waterfall, as well as the old stone foundation of a mill, and an old stone fireplace. There are swings in the park as well.

Every Friday night there is live folk music at a local church. Extraordinary talent at a very reasonable price. You will love this.

Food scene

Mendhi is undoubtedly the very best restaurant in Morristown. http://mehtanirestaurantgroup.com/mehndi/ They have three branches of restaurants all in one location. This one, the Indian one, is the most affordable and my favorite. Another branch is called Ming II, Asian fusion, has excellent food priced at the top end of my price range. My guests always love this one too. Another branch is primarily a bar. 88 Headquarters Plaza 3 Speedwell Avenue, Morristown, NJ, 07960 973-871-2323

84 Speedwell Ave, Morristown, NJ 07960 Across from Headquarters Plaza, easy walking distance from my home. This is my favorite restaurant in town, featuring Kabobs (my favorite is Salmon) with your choice of saffron rice or salad with Persian pickles. A nice appetizer called sudzi just makes my day! Another favorite is a dish with pomegranate in a stew vegetarian or with chicken that is comforting, healthy, and delicious. I take all my guests there, and they all love it as well.

This delightful bakery and coffee shop is a local gem. From simple ginger snaps or butter cookies to complicated gooey gems with butterscotch, crumbs and chocolate. I have so many favorites I'd almost have to list them by season. All sandwiches are served on a light brioche bread. Egg salad, Chicken salad are almost always on the menu. Soups are a butternut squash and there is a beet salad with goat cheese. I'm a fan of their quiche, and when I buy a whole goat cheese and spinach, the texture of the custard part is a dream come true. My first time there, it was hosting an art project. Very creative art on the walls and a unique bicycle shop nearby does creative, artistic compilations.
