Favourite local beach. Good surf here or at neighbouring Booby's bay, and best dog walking beach. Grab a coffee from our neighbour Tom's coffee truck on the beach - Coastal Coffee. Head to Connie Bay Stores en route for pastries.. but get there early.

Head at low tide for amazing walks and swims. Head to Porthcothan Bay Stores for ice creams or beers. Pop to Macdonald’s farm whilst you’re there, if you have young kids.

Best local pub. Rick Stein pub food + good beer garden when it's sunny.
You can walk through fields from our house to get there - go right at the end of the drive, walk straight towards the dead end and you'll see a public footpath sign. Walk straight through the fields to the church, and the pub is next to the church.

Hidden gem on one of our favourite walks. Park up above Hawkers Cove, and walk around Stepper Point. Take a dip in the estuary and then get tea and cake at Rest a While.

Best scones in the area. Very cute national trust-vibe cafe. Ideal for a sandwich or scones and tea, with a coastpath walk to see the epic bedruthan steps. Keep dogs on leads and remember the steps down to the beach are closed but we think the view is better from the top anyway!

If you want to see Padstow, this is the best coffee and brekkie around. Gets super busy in peak season. We'd recommend heading in early, picking up takeaway and walking up to the obelisk / to Hawkers Cove to escape the crowds.

Amazing if you have kids. Have a coffee whilst the kids meet the animals and play in the playground, or go for pizzas and beers whilst the kids play. They’ve got a new chef for the 2023 so could be great food too.
