Food Scene

There are 2 Made in Belfast restaurants, one close to the city hall (which is a good place to go for lunch) and another in Cathedral Quarter (Talbot Street), which is a good choice for dinner as you are close to lots of good bars, so you can go for a drink or two afterwards. Décor in the restaurant is quirky and the focus of the food is local produce from local farms. Good cocktail menu.

Drinks & Nightlife

This is a good place to go early on in the evening for a cocktail just for the experience and to people watch. The cocktails are fantastic as is the service, a bit on the pricey side (£10-ish for a cocktail) but worth going there for one to start the evening off.

Traditional pub in one of the most photographed streets in Belfast. In the summer there are crowds of people outside the pub, in the cobbled street which is lined with flowers. There are benches and heaters outside, a great people-watching spot. Good selection of whisky. I love the bar interior here, and you’ll always find a local to chat to!

Quirky little bar (prepare to be squashed), but really good atmosphere and you never know who you might bump into there, a popular bar with film and TV casts and crew. This and the Duke of York are my own personal favourite Belfast bars.

Parks & Nature

Beautiful park across the road from the house. There are good walking and running trails here. If you walk through the walk to the Ormeau Road end, you can then walk along the embankment by the river to reach Botanic Gardens.

This is a great walking, running and cycle route, which goes right to Lisburn. It is about 10 miles long through beautiful countryside that runs alongside the river. Stop at The Lock-Keeper's Cottage around 2.5milles along the path, for a coffee and something sweet.
