Drinks & Nightlife

Not only is it literally at the end of our block, the food and drink selection is devine! It's great for lunch, but it really shines in the evening, when the locals gather. I highly recommend their artisan pizzas!

Bar, venue, and vegan restaurant all in one. I've seen some amazing conjunto tejano music here. If you want to see how the locals do it, this is the place.

Food Scene

This is definitely my favorite place to get a burger. Everything on the menu is amazing, but the burgers are the bomb! Lunch is a must for this restaurant, but at night it's an awesome bar, too! Wednesdays are $5 cheese burgers

It doesn't look very different than any other Mexican restaurant, but inside they do something amazing. Two words: brisket tacos; mind-blowing. It's only open for lunch, and you'll have to get there early as it fills up fast.

You want a true San Antonio taco? Go here. It's a staple for the bar scene, but don't expect anything fancy. It's a taco truck with the best street tacos in town. Open late late late.

Here's the classic San Antonio experience. Mariachis, tacos, margaritas... it's got it all. Mi Ti's (as we call it) has been around since 1941 and it's a staple for tourists and local families alike. Also it's open 24 hours! Be sure to stop in the panaderia (bakery) for some traditional treats to take home.

Carmens de la Calle (the map only shows the old location so I have to do it like this) Full disclosure: I work here. But let me tell you, it is fantastic! The Paella is to die for. Fridays are flamenco nights, too! An amazing meal plus live entertainment; this is San Antonio at its coolest.

Parks & Nature

Long trails under glorious oak and pecan trees. Follows the river, and there's decent fishing. The zoo and golf course are nearby. Plenty of barbecue pits so the whole family can enjoy.
