Trinity River is accessible by driving just about an hour into the mountains. There are camp grounds, places to swim, river rafting companies, kayaking, etc. It can be a rough river at times, but it's so beautiful. There are several rivers in this area.

Accessible from lots of points, this state of the art Marsh boasts clean wide trails for walking or riding bikes right along the Humboldt Bay. Here you can see several species of wild birds that live here long term and some that are just passing through.

Just about an hour up the coast is the town of Trinidad. There is a pier, beach and cute victorian town. Also home to Patricks Point State park, which is an awesome place to see the redwoods and coast.
