The Hungry Hiker has great food. They recently stopped their breakfast offering. This restaurant does have Uber Eats and Postmates but it can be a bit of a long wait. They are adding back some dinner offerings but check their facebook page for the most up to date information. Walkable from the house.

This place is new and still adding items to their menu. They have a large deck out back and also a grassy area for frisbee along with cornhole. Great staff and a larger place than most in the area. Beer, wine and liquor is offered. This is a great place for family lunches if you want to let the kids roam outside while you're waiting on your food.

Ok this place is a bit of a greasy spoon but it is probably one of the best burgers I've ever had. I'm not crazy about the fries but the tots are delicious. If your in the mood for some fast food this is the place to go! Don't be worried about the long line wrapping around the building they work fast here and have very reasonable prices! You can only take food to go here right now.

You can walk to this one too! This is a version of Mellow Mushroom but with the hometown local vibe. The owner actually used to run Mellow Mushroom before relocating here to Walhalla.

Favorite hikes
This is a great place to hike to a waterfall with a swimming hole. We take our 3 children (3,10 and 14). The hike down is easy and the hike back is uphill so a bit harder. Dogs welcome and there is a small beach to hang out. We usually allot 4 hours for driving, hiking and hanging out as well as hiking back and driving back. You can certainly spend more time here if you pack food.

Riley Moore Falls TrailThis is a great place to hike to a waterfall with a swimming hole. We take our 3 children (3,10 and 14). The hike down is easy and the hike back is uphill so a bit harder. Dogs welcome and there is a small beach to hang out. We usually allot 4 hours for driving, hiking and hanging out as well as hiking back and driving back. You can certainly spend more time here if you pack food.
This hike is considered easy, we took 3 kids ages ranging from 3-14. About an hour half total there and back. Small sliding rock for kids. No swimming hole but can hang out for about 30 minutes or so before you've done it all. Our small poodle mix did well on this hike.

Station Cove Falls Trailhead
State Road S-37-95This hike is considered easy, we took 3 kids ages ranging from 3-14. About an hour half total there and back. Small sliding rock for kids. No swimming hole but can hang out for about 30 minutes or so before you've done it all. Our small poodle mix did well on this hike.
Very short hike down to a waterfall but there is an overlook deck if you don't want to go down the steep trail into the actual waterfall. The overlook deck is a short 3 minute flat walk. You can put your feet in the water but there isn't really a swimming hole. I would not recommend children under 8-10 because the trail is very steep down and up but only takes 10 minutes. Overlook deck is easy for all.

We did tube this river a little bit but it was slower and shorter at about 30 minutes of tubing then you have to carry your tube on the trail back. More suitable for smaller children since the water isn't rushing.
We saw a Fleetwood Mac cover band here and it was great! It is a restored venue that used to be a school house. There honestly isn't a bad seat in the house but tickets do sell out. They have all kinds of bands and events along with snacks and beer and wine. Also walkable from the house!

There honestly isn't a bad seat in the house but tickets do sell out. They have all kinds of bands and events along with snacks and beer and wine. Also walkable from the house!

This is the cutest wine shop. They do offer beer as well. This is walkable to house but a little further than the other places but still totally easy walk. The owners are welcome and do events all the time. Check their facebook for their event schedule. They do some Sunday brunches and charcuterie is available here.
