Dogs

Bozeman is a very dog-friendly city. Many businesses will allow your dogs inside, there are parks dedicated to dogs, and over 50% of Bozemanites own pups! It all boils down to resposible dog ownership. Always pick up after your dog. Dog leashes are required on most local trails. Dogs are not allowed off leash in Yellowstone National Park. Small dogs look like prey to an eagle or hawk, so it's best not to leave small animals outside unsupervised. When in the schoolhouse, please be sure to keep your dogs off all furniture. There may be additional cleaning fees if excess dog hair is found.

The Anceney Schoolhouse

The Anceney Schoolhouse first opened its doors to students in 1910. It was named after Charles Anceney, who ran the largest beef cattle operation in the area. He and his son acquired 120,000 acres of rangeland between the Gallatin and Madison watersheds, now known as Gallatin Gateway. After his death, Charles' ranch passed through several owners and is currently owned by Ted Turner. The days of this one room schoolhouse came to an end in 1964. It was moved to its current location in 1967. It was renovated by the current owners, Patti and Dan Ritter of Bozeman, MT in 2016.
