Wonderful local bakery with excellent breakfast sandwiches! Our boys love the hog trough breakfast when it's offered. Also great sandwiches for lunch and dinner. Pies, muffins, doughnuts and other baked goods always available.

Located in the famous fishing community of Spruce Creek, the tavern is known for its tray of fries - a definite must try! Great dinner and drink selection. Our family loves their wings. It gets very busy so go early or be prepared to wait for a table. Nice patio area.

Owned by my uncle, I have to recommend a meal here even though it's a little further of a drive (about 30 minutes) to Huntingdon, home of Juniata College. Former furniture store building restored into a large restaurant space. Mostly bar type foods, great drinks and weekend entertainment.

A small town 10 minutes from We are... Home! Several local shops and restaurants to check out. There has been some town revitalization work and slowly, more events and shops are popping up. There is a great area for walking, a playground and the outside public pool at Reservoir Park.

Altoona is about 20- 30 minutes from the house. Shopping, restaurants, the Curve Baseball stadium, and train activities. Our favorite restaurant in Altoona is Villa Capri. Excellent Italian food. There are many popular chain restaurants and stores to choose from.

Local, family owned amusement park 15 minutes from We Are...Home! Great park food, amusement rides and a water park with slides, lazy river and wave pool. The Delgrosso family's sauce plant is also located here so be sure to check out the pasta selections on the waterside of the park! Great way to spend a family day!

The best chocolate around! So many confections to choose from in the store along with an ice cream parlor in the back. There is also a museum room with the history of Gardner's (the factory is right outside of town). They were the creators of the heart shaped chocolate boxes for Valentine's Day - check out the display!
