Neighbourhoods

Burray has a lovely friendly community spirit often hosting local events, it has some great beaches and walks with spectacular views around the coastline where much of Orkneys wildlife can be seen, orcas, seals, basking sharks have all been sighted not to mention the birdlife that can be viewed in our garden, oyster catchers, curlews and the rare female hen harrier have all paid us a visit.

Getting around

The local bus is the X1 and the bus stop is 5 minutes away

It travels from St Margarets Hope through Burray to Kirkwall then on to Stromness every hour during the day you can get on and off wherever you like on route, a day pass is around £9. Download the stagecoach app for live maps and timetables.
