Small towns around

"La Riviera Limousine": medieval city built on the banks of the Dordogne. You stroll happily through the medieval streets, observing with surprise the decorations on the facades and letting yourself be tempted by the pretty little shops. We dream there on the quays and the footbridge while looking at the chapel of the Penitents and its magnificent bell-tower-wall which is reflected in the waters of the Dordogne. You can cool off there in summer, on the opposite bank, at the swimming pool, in the river, in a canoe or paddle (rentals on site). From May to October: you can embark on a gabare (large flat-bottomed boat), to listen to the epic of the gabariers who went down to Libourne to deliver their loads of wood for the Bordeaux cooperage. The 2nd Sunday of May: it is the Strawberry Festival. Local producers' market and giant strawberry pie! In summer: festive local producers' market, every Monday from 5 p.m. You can eat on the spot the food bought at the market and cooked by volunteers (remember to bring your cutlery). Moment of conviviality not to be missed! For the youngest, a skate park and children's games are available all year round. A treasure hunt with the Tèrra Aventura app also lets you discover the city in a fun way. All shops, INTERMARCHE supermarket in Altillac (just next door). In Altillac, departure of the hike "Le château du Doux" (10 km - 3h).

This is THE city around, with all its shops and bars. But above all, a huge colorful market is held there on Saturday mornings under the Georges Brassens hall, which has dedicated a song to it!
