Getting around
Looking for a car rental?
Rent a car for a day or for the duration of your stay. CAT rent-a-car is located in the village and will drop your car right at our villa. Ask me for contact details.
Customs and culture
Grocery Store Check-out
At the check out counter, the first thing the clerk will ask is ‘Comprobante?’. You might think they are asking about paper or plastic but what they want to know is if you require a receipt for business purposes. The correct answer is ‘no, gracias’ or ‘no, normal’. That little tidbit has tripped up a lot of travellers to the DR.

Apps you need
If you don’t speak Spanish, I recommend you download Google translate. It helps with communicating with locals but you can also use the camera on your phone to translate menus. Secondly, get the XE currency exchange app so you can see what things cost here in your own currency. Lastly, everyone uses WhatsApp so best to download it so you are ready.
