Food scene

A hugely popular venue for live music, events, and good food. Every so often, they have a touring kitchen that takes over the regular menu and will cook exotic food such as a fantastic plant-based feast. They always have a selection of Stroud brewed beer and cider.

Delicious hot food is served in their kitchen in Brimscombe Mill and is Pay-As-You-Can. They are fighting to change the world through food, they make delicious food (especially cake). If you wish to, you can 'pay it forward' for those unable to buy food to eat a hot meal. A lovely little community hub that is also situated with a really interesting recovered furniture warehouse. They also have a crop share section where people can drop off and take the locally grown surplus and donated produce for free. If you want to meet people there are gatherings at the following times: Lunch every Tuesday - Friday 12-2pm Coffee and cake every Tuesday - Friday 10-4pm Thursday after school with family friendly food 5-7pm Friday after work drinks and food. 5-7pm for food and 5-8pm for drinks. Saturday 10-3pm for coffee and cake.

A perfect place for brunch, enjoy your coffee and food outside beside the clearest stream you'll ever see and under the 18th Century Railway. If you're lucky enough a steam train will go by!

The perfect last pit stop en route to the apartment, Jolly Nice is an award winning artisanal farm shop and drive through (I definitely recommend the sausage rolls!).

Sightseeing

A vast area worth walking around offers views into two different valleys, and on a clear day, you can see the River Severn and Wales. On a sunny day, the Bear provides a lovely place for a cocktail, and the ice cream shop has excellent homemade ice cream. During the Warmer months, cows, horses and even a donkey roam free around the common, which is quite the sight... especially when they decide to sit on the main roads.

King Henry VIII and his then wife Anne Boleyn visited the castle in 1535 and it later became the home and final resting place of his sixth wife, Katherine Parr who remarried after the king's death. Parr is buried in the castle's church, making Sudeley the only privately owned castle in the world to have a Queen of England buried in its grounds.

City/town information

A quirky, hippy town. Loads of restaurants and cafes etc. On Fridays, there is an antique and bric-a-brac market. The Saturday morning Farmers Market is amazing. It is only a short walk down the canal, or the best parking is the overground car park next to Waitrose or follows signs to the multi-storey and park on level 2A for level access to the town. All parking is free after 3 pm.
