Joe's Stone Crab is a Miami hotspot in South Beach known for its bluestone crab claws. In operation for 100 years, Barbra Streisand, Bill Murray, and The Rolling Stones have dined there. I went and thought the legendary claws were delicious, unlike any other crab meat I've ever tried!

Bib Gourmand: good quality, good value cooking What started out as a little shipping container in 2017 has morphed into this brick-and-mortar hot spot in Little Havana. There is almost always a line of diners vying to squeeze into the narrow space, designed with emerald-green walls, vibrant tile and sleek brass trimmings. Everyone comes for the same thing: a superb Cuban sandwich featuring pork butt that's been marinated for a week in garlic and spices, then pressed between expertly grilled slices of house-made bread. A heavier but equally flavorful alternative is the lechon, starring tender shredded pork slathered in garlic-cilantro aïoli. Thick baton-shaped croquetas also impress if you need a pre-sandwich bite.

This sleek, well-oiled machine arrives on the local scene, courtesy of Giorgio Rapicavoli. A young Miami native, Chef Rapicavoli is of Argentinian and Italian heritage. His resume is as bold and impressive as his restaurant is cozy and unassuming. Dark floors and whitewashed ceilings set the stage, while smooth, Scandi-style seats and an array of lighting features enhance the creative factor. A bar stocked with premium spirits puts guests in the mood for a sip or two before the onslaught of savory specials. Think tomato "'nduja" served with grilled local bread, fennel and Calabrian peppers; or patate fritte with a "fonduta" of cheese and truffle. Pasta pomodoro may appear next, simple yet perfect with parmesan cream, sweet tomatoes and herbs aplenty.

City advice

Getting around

Zip around town in a jiffy!

Uber and Lyft are the fastest way to get around if you aren’t planning on renting a car. The house is very centrally located and the nearest attraction is the Loan Depot Park formally known as the Marlins stadium/Orange Bowl. A Walgreens right on the other side of the property & a gas station across the street. If you’d like to get to any other major attraction you will need to either take public transport or a ride share. Everything is 10-15 min away. Calle ocho, bay front, frost museum, Perez art museum, midtown, downtown, wynwood, Riverlanding, river district ect!
