Lido della Schiranna

All around the lake there is a very nice cycle path, 28 km long very easy and flat, it connected also with the cycle path of Comabbio lake. If you are interested in you can take our bikes with no problem:) or rent them at the lake. The two main points on the lake are Schiranna and Gavirate, both with children playground, bars pizzeria and park with ducks and swans. Both are famous for their rowing teams, Gavirate also hosts the headquarter training centre of Australian rowing team!

In Varese center very nice to visit the Giardini Estensi, it is the public park of the town hall, here you will find also a children playground and going upstairs behind the fountain you will find also a nice electric train for children.

Villa Panza

Very nice to visit is Villa Panza, in the city centre, fee entrance, in addition to the wonderful park and the villa it is possible to visit also art exhibition and a permanent installation with colored light, very suggesting!

Sacro Monte di Varese

The Unesco heritage Sacromonte has a wonderful view over the lake, the city and the Swiss valleys, and great cathedral. There are also some restaurants with touristic menu for lunch. To reach the top of Sacromonte it you can choose: - to walk on the pilgrim path and visit the 14 chapels well painted by Italian artists - or park in the nearby of "funicolare" a small cable railway that bring you to centre of the village, it quite cheap and automatic but open only during weekend - or park to the top and reach on foot the centre of the village (500mt more or less) On the way to Sacromonte there is the great park of Villa Toeplitz, with beautiful fountains and Italian style garden.

Luino is also very famous for its big market on Wednesday, it is one of the most ancient (since 1500) in Europe. A nice beach on Maggiore Lake next to Luino is Parco Giona in Maccagno, famous for kite surf!
