Superb little bar with a great selection of beers and a good jukebox. Make sure you get some fish and chips from next door and enjoy them with your drinks (don't worry, it's allowed - as long as you take your rubbish away with you!

City advice

Getting around

Walk!

Manchester is an easy city to explore on foot and it is probably the best way to really get a feel for the place. There is a constant supply of new shops, bars and restaurants that you only really find by stumbling across or into.
Travelling with kids

Manchester with children

Our son (now 4 1/2, he’ll tell me off if I don’t include the 1/2) was born in the city centre and has lived only in the city centre: and he loves it. Obviously there is a shortage of the “normal” parent traps such as soft plays in the middle of a bustling city, but there really are lots of great things to do. The museums and galleries are always putting events on for families: special mention to Great Northern Warehouse and their book nook and kids playroom inside, as well as their brilliant sandpit and play area outside. Just ask me for more recommendations!
