Take a walk over the Ohio River on Louisville's walking bridge! Bikes are also allowed. There is also a fun playground for the kids near the start of the bridge. If you reach the other side (2 miles in length) you are in Indiana! Go at night to see the bridge light up.

Ok, hands down the best donuts on the planet! Arrive early enough that they haven't sold out. Try out their specialty maple bacon or butter cream. Pair it with a visit to the "Book Nook" across the street, and wash it down with Sunergos coffee next door. The recipe for a great morning in Louisville!

Our favorite coffee shop in Louisville!! You may notice the Sunergos mugs on the kitchen shelf. We hope you will enjoy this wonderful third wave coffee shop. They have 4 locations in Louisville, the closest to us is on Norris Place. https://www.sunergoscoffee.com/

This is our favorite restaurant for a romantic date night, when the grandparents are watching our 3 girls!! Always has fun new things on the menu, but keeps around some of our favorites as well. Great atmosphere and great food.

A place just for popsicles? Sounds boring, but believe me, this is not your average popsicle. These are amazing! They have fruit and cream based pops, with standard flavors like coffee and passion fruit. Or try something more exotic like mango habanero or cucumber lime.

Parks & Nature

This is a great park with plenty of walking/jogging. It has multiple areas with grills and playgrounds, perfect for a family cookout. We enjoy the scenery of the stream that winds through this mostly wooded park.

Drinks & Nightlife

The traditionally working class (now artisanal-hip) Germantown/Schnitzelburg neighbourhood boasts a pocket bar on every other corner. Nachbar started out appealing to the musicians and artists who flocked to the area's affordable shotgun houses, but now draws a cross-section of locals, especially on the dog-friendly patio. The worn wood panelling and thrift store decor are balanced by none-too-shabby craft beer picks (including local favourites New Albanian Brewing Company and Bluegrass Brewing Company on tap). Generous pours and budget-friendly prices don't hurt, either. Locals order Old Forrester (Ol' Fo') on the rocks.
