La Croix des Gardes is right in the centre of the town of Cannes, less than 1km as the crow flies from the iconic Croisette. The 200 acres of forest are for the most part now owned by the Coastal Conservatory and managed by the Town of Cannes. La Croix des Gardes is the town's lungs, offering walkers a 360° view of Cannes. Almost entirely covered with a forest of Aleppo pines and green oaks, it retains a few historical relics in the Royal Fort, which today houses the Sea Museum.
