2.5 mile walk around the lake. Loads of mountain bike/hiking trails at the upper camping area. Locals know where rope swing is, hard to describe, listen for sounds of delighted kids. Lots of people fish here, a little small for a kayaker, but would be a great short paddle in the morning.

Great place for 4-6 mile hikes. Bridges at water crossings. Horses do use the park so be aware of that and say hello as soon as you see them.

This is a disc golf course but also a wonderful place to walk! Right on the edge of town, it is easy to get to. It is right behind the cakery bakery. Great 20-25 minute loop with wide trails, good for kids, great for dogs.

Customs and culture

Viroqua in the driftless area is a great place to slow down and enjoy small town living.

So much to do here, from out door adventures; hiking, biking, fly fishing, kayaking, snow shoeing, cross country skiing to unique shops and amazing farm to table food.
Travelling with kids

Great place for kids

City park on Decker street has a great playground, indoor pool attached to the high school is open to everyone in the summer. Great parks for hikes. Biking is hilly but you can do the Hwy 14 bike path to Westby. Hit the westby outdoor pool when you get there!
Don't miss

The Saturday Farmers Market is a must

Plan to spend some time sampling food and people watching. Amazing local organic vegetables, fruits, cheeses, and meats. Amish goods as well. Local honey and maple syrup.
