There are lots of gastropubs in the area, but this is one of our favourites - good bar food downstairs, and a more formal restaurant upstairs. Much better than the Engineer further down the road.

Incredibly beautiful, rolling heathland which makes it feel as if you are in the countryside. Highlights: Stunning views from Parliament Hill, bathing ponds, woodland trails and Kenwood House.

Definitely worth a walk to the top of the hill for wonderful views over London. The little high street, Regents Park Road, has lots of shops and cafes too.

Ignore the dot on the map - this goes all the way from the East End to Little Venice. I'd get onto the canal at Camden Lock or Primrose Hill and head for Little Venice for an interesting London walk.
