The mountain bike with a difference! This is the hire shop at the start of the 44km mountain bike ride taking in the base of Mont Fort (2894m Col des Gentiane), round to Verbier and back. The really good news is that almost all the climb is done by the cable car but the descents don't disappoint!

Sightseeing

The biggest gravity dam in Europe - absolutely massive! And you can go on a tour inside. Plus there is a great walk around one side of the dam itself, and on up into the mountains, if you wish. Great for kids, the adventurous, or the young at heart.

You get to see the Aletsch glacier (largest in the Alps) first hand. This part of the Jungfrau-Aletsch Protected Area, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001. So, if you are into stunning views, this place is hard to beat!

Arts & Culture

Sion is the oldest Roman Catholic diocese in Switzerland and one of the oldest north of the Alps. In addition to the facilities you would expect of a major town, it also hosts a fine arts museum, the Valère Basilica (fortified church) on one hill and the Tourbillon Castle dating back to 1130ad on the other.
