MEAT: Madrid is also the European door to South America. If you'd like a great cow meat, don't miss an Argentine restaurant. Right next to the puerta del sol, you have a nice option at reasonable price. Bar option, or behind it a restaurant. "Ojo de bife" or "Bife de chorizo" are the best options.

Paella: A Spanish rice option. What foreigners call paella. You'll see paella everywhere around. But the truth is only foreigners eat these kinds of rice. If you want a true one, the one people from Alicante or Valencia will respect downtown, this is the one. Don't innovate much: abanda is always the best option. If you know, the black squid rice is beautiful!!

Very nice palace. Check the time schedule before you go. In the summertime, you have what is called the "strawberries train" which take you there. Because Madrid's strawberries were coming from Aranjuez. So it was the transportation used during week-end in the past to get strawberries. It leaves from Atocha. Just check availability.
