Food Scene

In the middle of beautiful apple country 10 min from cabin. We like to go to Pine Grove State Park and then take the back roads across the mountain into Aspers where we get a large pizza to go at Little Italy and enjoy it back at the cabin. If you eat in you can bring your own wine or can purchase beer. They also have karaoke at night.

Parks & Nature

This is our favorite place to be when we are at the cabin. Hike the beautiful trails, fish, or just hang out on the beach at Fuller Lake.

Another State Park 10 min away from our cabin. This park has great hiking trails for families and in the summer there is a huge pool with a water slide. Kids love exploring the streams that wind all around the park looking for slag (looks like rock but is blue and is a by-product from when coal was made here).

We love to kayak here. You can take kayak's canoe's or small motorized boats. Don't forget to get a PA license at the park office at either Caledonia or Pine Grove Furnace. You can also fish here. There is also a hiking trail that winds around the reservoir.

The Cumberland Valley Rail Trail runs down the middle of its namesake: the Cumberland Valley of Pennsylvania, between the South Mountain and Blue Mountain ridges on the eastern flank of the Appalachians. Trail head is in Shippensburg. We love to bike the 18 mile round trip. Pack food as once you are on the trail it's almost all farms and nature.
