The nearby mountain Hymmetus is the paradise of nature lovers. It offers a lot of trecking ways marked, and stops for the mountaineers.
Also two ancient Monasteries of the 11th centurie after Christ, one of them converted to a museum.
The national park, created by queen Amalia, the wife of Otto the first King of Greece, was made to be the garden of the palace and opened to the public in the early 20th century. It features rare age old trees and plants brought from Genova, the States and from all over Greece. A nice place to relax. Two coffee shops the biggest Aigli, and a small cafe offering coffee ouzo and meze.
