Food Scene

The Wildflower is a cozy cafe that has been a foothills breakfast mainstay for decades! They have a variety of mimosas and bloody Mary's and on Thursday nights they team up with a local chef and offer sushi! Wildflower's huevos rancheros are my favorite! (If you have to wait for a seat at Wildflower I suggest popping over to Muddy Buck--Wildflower is relaxed about outside beverages.)

Unfussy tex-mex. Strong margaritas and a rooftop deck. My family has been going to the Morrison Inn since the '80's for their barbacoa! Walkable from Red Rocks.

Vietnamese fare in white-tablecloth setting. Their food is great, but I recommend beer over their cocktail menu. There's often a pianist playing!

Evergreen Lake is gorgeous! There is an idyllic ice skating rink in the cold months and in the summer there are stand up paddle boards and paddle boats available for rent. You can walk around the lake, but the trail is not ideal for bikes. Evergreen Lake is just across the street from downtown Evergreen's boardwalk, so it's convenient to take a stroll after lunch or grab a coffee after your nature walk. Red Rocks Amphitheater won Pollstar magazine's "Best Small Outdoor Venue" award 11 times so they renamed it the "Red Rocks Award"—and removed it from the running. Red Rocks is not only an amazing concert venue, but it also offers a Hall of Fame museum, hiking trails, movie nights, and daytime events including yoga, stair running, etc. GPS "Upper South Lot, Golden, CO 80401" for the parking lot that's closest to the venue. http://redrocksonline.com/about/history-geology
