Very pretty little town with a commanding castle and lovely views across the valley. A great photo opportunity; Compiano is relatively unspoilt and retains many of its old features.

Bardi is a pretty town boasting an imposing castle. The castle is unspoilt and has lovely views from various points. A good way to spend an afternoon. And then stop in one of the local restaurants for a meal. Look out for exciting events held throughout the year.

The bishop's holiday town in days for yore and said to be the background of the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci. My favourite place for a Sunday afternoon stroll and ice-cream.

A pretty town to stroll around have a gentle lunch and a good base from which to explore local villa's and gardens. Lucca is a city on the Serchio river in Italy’s Tuscany region. It’s known for the well-preserved Renaissance walls encircling its historic city center and its cobblestone streets. Broad, tree-lined pathways along the tops of these massive 16th- and 17th-century ramparts are popular for strolling and cycling. Casa di Puccini, where the great opera composer was born, is now a house museum.
