A short distance outside Soulard proper but if you're looking for a nicer dinner, this is a great place. Has the eclectic feel of Soulard but the chefs' creations are definitely several notches above the standard bar fare of the neighborhood.

Soulard's iconic steakhouse is low-key and very unpretentious. If you want a great meal at a very decent price, Tuckers will take care of your needs. It's not fancy but definitely not a dive, just a neighborhood restaurant that specializes in steak and other grilled food.

Whether standing beneath it to look up and marvel at it's size or taking a ride up to the top and looking over Missouri and Illinois, it's a great experience. If you like to jog or walk, it's definitely close enough to visit without a vehicle. Otherwise, grab a cab or Uber and check it out.

It's the brainchild of an adult artist who took a huge, multi-story warehouse building and turned it into a giant art installation/jungle gym/museum. You can climb on things and slide down slides and ride on things and go in tunnels, behind walls, from floor to floor. It's truly an amazing place...one of St. Louis' not-so-hidden gems!

A cool indoor climbing gym for kids and adults. I don't climb but I take my 10 year old daughter here and she loves it. They rent equipment, give lessons and the prices are reasonable.

And, admission is absolutely free! Some special exhibits cost extra but the bulk of the museum tour won't cost you a dime.
And...spend some time outside the museum to see Art Hill and the amazing views of Forest Park. It's right next to the (also free) St. Louis Zoo.
