Downies has good home cooking, including pies and cakes, and wonderful breakfasts. It's small so you may have to wait, but it's worth it.

A good place to get a nice beer and some pub grub to go with it. Indoor seating is overlooking the beer-making equipment. Service is hip rather than friendly, prices are a little high for food, but it's cool.

This is a pretty easy trail with lots of sign posts along the way that tell about the natural features and plants as well as local history.

Sightseeing
This is fun for families or just anyone. There is a pretty easy trail down to the lighthouse and a tour offered by volunteers (check for open times). There is also an informational kiosk about the wildlife in the area and trails to the "Big Spruce Tree". You have to access the lighthouse from Oceanside, as the road from Cape Meares community is blocked by a landslide.

Safeway has a good selection of items including some organic produce and groceries. For some reason, the check-out process always takes longer than you think it should and there are frequently lines. But it's a good choice for food, etc.

Fred Meyers has EVERYTHING! The store is vast and if you're getting anything from more than one department, you will get your daily exercise in by the time you reach the check-out stand. They also have a gas station on site. Their fish is usually a little better than Safeway.
