You cannot categorize Churchill Downs. Entertainment, sightseeing, sports, museum, nightlife (during night racing)... It has a bit of everything. The track runs from late April until November. Check the website for tickets and race information.

It’s a haul from the house, BUT if you’re staying for a while, it’s worth the drive!! Beautiful views, amazing hiking. Pay close attention to the signs about fall hazards. On average, at least one person per year dies after falling off one of the towering cliffs.
